STORIES, SYMBOLS  &  SCRIPTURES

The Key to the Kingdom® design was originally made with real antique keys like these.  It took three keys to make one K2K. Antique keys are actually very rare, hard to find and too expensive.... so we made our own!
Antique keys were used to make the Key to the Kingdom® design. The top pieces of the key cross are symbolic of the Holy Trinity. The main Key is God the Father, maker of all things and is a replica of the 'skeleton key' as Jesus was fully human and fully God. The cross represents God's forever family which is held together by the Deity above. Jesus put on human form; His arms spread out in Love when He was nailed to the cross. The lock of the Key is the shape of an 'E' representing Eternity.

At His death He unlocked the door to the Kingdom of God forever for all who choose to believe and accept His amazing act of sacrificial love.

Before He went to the cross Jesus told Peter He would give him the Keys to the Kingdom, then Peter passed them on to us...

Here are a few of Peter's 'keys':

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."

"If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God."

"If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ."

1 Peter 4:10-11 (NIV)

"To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever.  Amen."

Symbols that point to Christ through the process
by which the Key to the Kingdom® is made:

If you're a caster I know I've got some of the process wrong, I apologize...

A “lost wax” form is made of the design. The lost wax is then hung on what the caster calls a ''tree'' which holds multiple pieces. The tree is put down into a large cylinder which is then put through extreme heat. Precious metal is poured in and it fills the empty shape where the lost wax has melted away. The tree is pulled up out of the cylinder and submerged in water and left to cool down...The new metal cross is then "finished" to reveal it's shinning beauty.

This process is symbolic of what Jesus went through for us. He paid with His life for our sinful nature to melt away...in order for us to grow and change we must go through some heat!  He hung on a tree next to others and then was laid to rest in a rich man's tomb. He became THE Key of life by over coming death and then unlocked the door to eternity. He is risen and is now at the right hand of His Father acting as Priest and our Intercessor. One day soon He will reign as King of a literal earthly Kingdom.  Jesus filled us with Living Water and showed us the way down the narrow path.

Once I was lost but now I'm found!  It is finished! There will be no more pain and our new bodies will shine just like His....forever! Amazing!
